Isaac Yiadom
in our view
Yiadom will have some struggles with sophisticated route-runners, but he has the press skills, play speed and disruptive timing at the catch point that make him an attractive development prospect.
strengths
Excellent blend of height and length for the position. Genuinely enjoys press-coverage. Play speed and hustle are not concerns with this player. Coordinated footwork in his pedal and transition. Stays on top of routes and leverages receivers with subtle contact. Outstanding feel with his back to the ball, turning to locate, track and play the ball with timing. Natural feel for pattern matching. Aggressively attacks blocks en route to the screen/flat ballcarrier. Lowers his shoulder and looks to wrap as a tackler. Confident and plays big in critical situations. Showed steady growth the last four years, turning in his most consistent season as a senior. Dane Brugler 2/7/2018
weaknesses
Lean-framed and lacks ideal bulk. Inconsistent ball skills and leaves production on the field due to finishing issues. Jam technique requires more consistency. Gives up inside position too easily. Hips/pads tend to rise in his pedal. Straight-legged, creating issues on tight turns. Receivers can force his hip turn, allowing savvy route-runners to create space at the stem. Read/react trigger not as sharp from off-coverage. Play strength is average for the position. Willing vs. the run, but tackling skills require maintenance. Unimpressive ball production. Durability will be questioned due to his body type missed several games as a sophomore due to a shoulder injury (Oct. 2015). Dane Brugler 2/7/2018
