Alabama football lands commitment from 4-star edge Noah Carter

The day after five-star wideout Ryan Williams announced his recommitment to Alabama football, the Tide received the second commit of Kalen DeBoer’s short tenure. Four-star 2024 edge prospect Noah Carter announced the news on Thursday. “Best birthday gift I can ask for,” Carter said in a social media post.

Best birthday gift I can ask for. #RollTide https://t. co/Gsggx3bxhB — Noah Carter (@3noahcarter) January 25, 2024 Carter, who played his high school football at Centennial in Arizona, had originally signed to DeBoer at Washington.

When the coach took the Alabama job replacing Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa, Carter decommitted from the Huskies and followed DeBoer. He’s listed as the No. 22 edge rusher in his class according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

“Uber athletic edge rusher with two-way production,” 247Sports mountain region recruiting analyst Blair Angulo wrote in his scouting report of Carter. “Multi-faceted defender with ability to move well laterally. Shows terrific bend and explosiveness in pursuit.

Thrives in stand-up role where he can crossover blockers. Uses his quickness to the outside to put immediate pressure on offensive tackles. Displays the ability to get slip through creases to keep charging forward.

” He requested and was granted a release from his national letter of intent at Washington. He had signed during the early signing period in December. The 6-foot-4, 228-pound Carter visited Tuscaloosa over the weekend, posting pictures on social media with DeBoer and Crimson Tide players, including Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson and Jihaad Campbell.

He had 55 tackles and 11 sacks during his senior high school season. Playing on offense, he also had eight receiving touchdowns. .
