Jets’ hopes dashed by NFL exec in brutally honest take

The Jets are coming into the 2023 season with a tremendous amount of hype. HBO’s “Hard Knocks” has aided in this, serving as another propaganda arm for the organization. How could they not? After a disappointing 2022 season, the team checked off just about every need during the offseason.

They added the star quarterback in four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers and four-time Pro-Bowl running back Dalvin Cook. They’ve also improved at wide receiver with the addition of Allen Lazard, who hates New Jersey taxes, Randall Cobb and Mecole Hardman But don’t get ahead of yourselves. Some NFL “decision-makers” are predicting another disappointing season for the Jets.

On Tuesday, The Athletic released the results of its second annual preseason survey. A panel of 21 “decision-makers” comprised of general managers, team executives, head coaches and assistant coaches voted on questions regarding the upcoming season under the condition of anonymity. While the Jets received some high praise, most of which revolved around the addition of Rodgers, one poll question stood out among the rest.

In response to the question, “Which three teams will surprise people in a bad way?” three people answered the Jets. The top team, the Dallas Cowboys, received five votes. “I’ve seen this movie before,” one executive said, potentially referring to the Jets’ addition of Brett Favre in 2008.
