Report: Former Bucs receiver Mike Williams dies in construction accident

TAMPA ― Former Bucs receiver Mike Williams has died from injuries suffered in a construction accident, according to a Buffalo television station. He was 36. A fourth-round pick out of Syracuse in 2010, Williams burst onto the scene with 964 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns.

That made him an NFL Pepsi Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist. Williams played only four seasons with Tampa Bay before playing for his hometown Buffalo Bills in 2014. He finished his career spending part of 2016 with the Chiefs in the offseason.

” “Dang man hurts my heart seeing the news of my former teammate and Buccaneers 2010 draft class brother Mike Williams,” former Bucs defensive tackle Gerald McCoy posted on X, the site formerly known as Twitter. “Always great energy, brought joy and laughter to the locker room and a heck of a player!! Prayers and blessings to his family!!” Williams earned more than $11. 848 million in his NFL career.
