Aaron Rodgers accuses Giants' Jihad Ward of 'making s--t up' in escalating feud
The best tennis in town is not being played at the U. S. Open.
It is the volleying back and forth between Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Giants linebacker Jihad Ward. It was Rodgers’ turn to return serve Thursday and he responded to Ward’s accusation that he and Jets wide receiver Randall Cobb were laughing after Cobb’s illegal block gave Giants safety Bobby McCain a concussion. “So he thought we were laughing at his teammate?” Rodgers said.
“That never happened and I think he’s making s–t up. ” The war of words began last week in the preseason game between the Jets and Giants. Ward hit Rodgers a little late after a pass and Rodgers shoved him and said “That’s f–king bulls–t , bro.
What the f–k is that? Show some respect. ” Rodgers then said he did not know who Ward was and Ward said he did know who Rodgers was. After Rodgers threw a touchdown to Garrett Wilson, he went at Ward again and said, “Don’t poke the bear.
” “Hard Knocks” captured the whole exchange and featured it in this week’s episode. It also showed Rodgers joking with Cobb in the huddle about getting fined for the hit, which seems to be what bothered Ward. “Everybody going to get pissed off at that.
The whole team was pissed off, you know what I’m saying?” Ward said Wednesday. “It’s preseason and all that stuff and you’re going to do some reaction like that? “It’s cool, though. That’s how they roll.
I think we play them soon, it is what it is. ” The Jets and Giants play each other on Oct. 29.
