Where does Alabama football’s 2024 recruiting class rank after recent commitment flips?

By Matt Stahl It’s been a big week for Alabama football’s 2024 recruiting class. With three flips announcing their commitments to the Crimson Tide, the success has come at the expense of Georgia, Tennessee and Florida State. Four-star wideout Amari Jefferson started the party Saturday.

He switched to the Tide after previously committing to Tennessee baseball. On Tuesday, four-star safety Peyton Woodyard changed his mind, joining Alabama’s class after previously committing to the Bulldogs. On Thursday it was another defensive back, three-star in-state prospect Rydarrius “Red” Morgan, who flipped from FSU to UA.

The movement has been good news for Alabama in recruiting class rankings for the 2024 group. Before Jefferson’s flip, the Tide were the No. 14 class in the country according to the 247Sports composite.

As of Thursday evening, Alabama has the fourth-ranked class in the nation. UA trails Georgia, Ohio State and Florida, despite having less commitments than each of those three. Alabama has 17 commitments, with two five-stars, 11 four-stars and four three-stars.

On 247′s composite rankings, which take into account other recruiting service’s ratings, that puts them just ahead of Florida State, though in 247′s own metrics, the Tide rank No. 5. Alabama fares even better in On3′s industry rankings.

Alabama is third in those, beating out both the Seminoles and their in-state rival Florida. Georgia still ranks No. 1 according to On3, with Ohio State in second place.

Rivals rankings are less kind to the Tide. Alabama is listed as the No. 13 class for the 2024 cycle, with LSU and Tennessee both rising above UA in the SEC.

Highlights of Alabama’s 2024 class so far include five star quarterback Juliam Sayin, who plans to join the Tide from Carlsbad California. He is the No. 2-ranked quarterback and No.

23 player in the class according to 247. Alabama also reeled in a commitment from an in-state five-star in cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe from Clay-Chalkville. Mbakwe is the No.

2-ranked corner in the class of 2024 and the No. 20-ranked player. .
