Report: Broncos lose G Garcia to torn ACL
Denver Broncos offensive guard Max Garcia (76) started the past four games.
The Denver Broncos took another hit along the offensive line leading up to Sunday's matchup at the Los Angeles Chargers.
Broncos left guard Max Garcia was ruled out for the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to Mike Klis of 9News.com.
Garcia practiced fully on Wednesday and Thursday but felt discomfort in his knee. He underwent an MRI exam that revealed the severity of his injury.
A fourth-round pick of the Broncos in the 2015 NFL Draft, Garcia started the past four games after Ronald Leary suffered a season-ending torn Achilles.
The 6-foot-4, 309-pound Garcia had started all 16 games in each of the past two seasons after starting five of 15 contests during his rookie campaign.
Prior to last week's bye, Denver lost starting center Matt Paradis to a fractured left fibula in the second quarter of a 19-17 setback against Houston.
Paradis had never missed a snap since moving into the starting lineup in 2015. He had played 3,850 consecutive snaps to begin his career -- the second-longest active streak in the NFL.
Denver will feature a reshuffled offensive line for the AFC West matchup against the surging Chargers, who have won six consecutive games.
Billy Turner is expected to take over as the starting left guard while Connor McGovern will replace Paradis at center. Elijah Wilkinson will start at right guard.
