New England Patriots defensive tackle Adam Butler (70) grabs onto New York Jets quarterback Bryce Petty (9) during the second half of New England's 26-6 win at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 31.
New England Patriots defensive tackle Adam Butler offered a response to the Super Bowl boast of Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey prior to the team's AFC Championship Game on Sunday. "If you're going to make a statement like that, you better be able to back it up," Butler said on Wednesday. Butler's words come to heels of Ramsey's confident boast to the crowd at Jacksonville's EverBank Field, shortly after the third-seeded Jaguars posted a 45-42 win over the second-seeded Pittsburgh Steelers in the divisional-round game. "We are going to the Super Bowl, and we are going to win that (expletive)," Ramsey said. Strong words to be certain, but Butler didn't seem worried ahead of Sunday's game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. (3:05 p.m. ET). "It's a bold statement to make," Butler said. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. But like I said, be humble or be humbled. That's all I can really say about that." The top-seeded Patriots, who are seeking the sixth Super Bowl crown of the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick Era, hammered the fifth-seeded Tennessee Titans 35-14 in the divisional round.
