CFB notebook: Houston leading rusher Catalon leaves program
Running back Duke Catalon (2) was Houston's leading rusher the past two seasons.
Houston running back Duke Catalon has left the program for personal reasons, the school announced.
Catalon led the Cougars in rushing in each of the last two seasons. He had 528 rushing yards to go along with 44 receptions in 2016, and he had 637 rushing yards, 15 receptions and eight touchdowns last season.
The Houston native transferred from Texas to the Cougars in August 2015.
--Kansas State running back Dalvin Warmack has changed his mind about transferring from the school.
Warmack posted on social media that he decided to stay with the program after getting to know new running backs coach Eric Hickson.
Warmack announced last month that he would finish his career elsewhere as a graduate transfer. He rushed 48 times for 252 yards and three touchdowns and added 33 receptions last season.
--USC wide receiver Joseph Lewis no longer faces felony charges, but he reportedly faces five misdemeanor counts regarding two domestic violence incidents.
The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office has filed five misdemeanor counts, including three counts of domestic battery with an injury, false imprisonment and domestic battery without an injury, as a result of the incidents last month, ESPN reported.
Lewis was suspended indefinitely by the school when he was arrested, and that suspension remains in effect. He is not listed on the roster for the Trojans' spring practice sessions, which began Tuesday.
--Kicker Ryan Tice is transferring from Michigan to Tennessee, multiple outlets reported.
Tice will venture to Tennessee as a graduate transfer and will attempt to make the Volunteers' team as a walk-on.
Tice made all 10 of his extra-point attempts in 2016 but misfired on his lone field-goal try. He didn't attempt any of either this past season, as Quinn Nordin handled the kicking duties for Michigan.
