Returns to Oklahoma State with potential to make a run at the Heisman Trophy after leading the nation in rushing yards on his way to earning the Doak Walker Award, unanimous All-America honors, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and more Heisman votes than any other running back in 2023.
 

2023 (Sophomore): Wrapped up his sophomore season as the nation’s best running back, winning the Doak Walker Award, unanimous All-America honors, the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (coaches and AP), while also receiving more votes for the Heisman Trophy than any other running back to finish seventh overall in the voting ... Also a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year Award and one of just three players to earn unanimous All-Big 12 honors ... Despite playing for an offense that attempted the third-most pass attempts in the FBS and recording just 19 total carries through the first three games of the season, he led the nation in rushing yards (1,732), yards from scrimmage (2,062), 100-yard games (9), 150-yard games (5), 250-yard games (2) and carries of at least 20 yards (21), 30 yards (14), 40 yards (7) and 70 yards (2). He was also second in rushing touchdowns (21), total touchdowns (22), rushing yards after contact (1,056 via PFF) and all-purpose yards (2,062) ... Became the first Doak Walker Award winner from Oklahoma State and just the fourth sophomore to win the award, joining Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin, 2018), LaMichael James (Oregon, 2010) and Darren McFadden (Arkansas, 2006) ... Averaged 6.1 yards per carry on 285 rushing attempts, making him the only FBS player to average more than six yards per carry with an average of at least 20 attempts per game ... Led the nation with 1,096 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns after halftime, becoming the first player since 2018 reach 1,000 yards and the first since 2017 with 15 touchdowns  ... His 581 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns in fourth quarters were also first in the nation, with the rushing yards marking the most for any FBS player since 2014 and the touchdowns marking the most since 2017 ... His season numbers dotted the hard-to-reach OSU record books as he cracked the top 10 lists for total touchdowns (fourth), rushing touchdowns (fourth), all-purpose yards (fourth), rushing yards (sixth) and rushing attempts (eighth) ... One of two OSU offensive players to start all 14 games ... Put together a streak of six straight games with more than 120 yards rushing, beginning with his first game as the full-time running back at Iowa State ... Exploded onto the national scene the following week in the win over Kansas, hauling in a career-long 50-yard reception on the first snap of the game and surpassing 100 yards from scrimmage with eight and a half minutes remaining in the first quarter ... Finished the KU game with 284 total yards as his 168 rushing yards and 116 receiving yards made him the first Cowboy since Gerald Hudson in 1989 to record at least 100 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in the same game ... Was also the first OSU running back with a 100-yard receiving game since Rafael Denson in 1992 ... The game began a historic run as he totaled 282 scrimmage yards the following week at West Virginia and 292 scrimmage yards after that against Cincinnati to become the only FBS player in the past 10 years with more than 250 yards from scrimmage in three consecutive games ... His 282 rushing yards against WVU and 271 rushing yards against UC marked the most rushing yards for an OSU player in a two-game span (553) since Heisman-winner Barry Sanders posted 625 yards against Iowa State and Texas Tech in 1988 ... It also gave him the No. 1 and No. 6 single-game rushing performances in the FBS all season and two of the top 10 rushing performances in Oklahoma State history ... Had four rushing touchdowns at WVU, with three in the fourth quarter and two against Cincinnati ... Totaled 149 rushing yards in the fourth quarter at West Virginia to rank as the fifth-most in a quarter in school history and 211 yards in the second half against Cincinnati to rank as the second-most in a half in school history ... Had his longest rush of the year with a 75-yard touchdown against Cincinnati ... Averaged 9.7 yards per carry on 29 carries at WVU and 10.8 yards per carry on 25 rushes against UC ... Followed that with another impressive performance in a Bedlam win over No. 9 Oklahoma, producing 156 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns to help defeat the Sooners in the final scheduled Bedlam matchup of the foreseeable future ... Helped lead OSU to back-to-back second-half comebacks in the final two regular season matchups to reach the Big 12 Championship game, recording 164 rushing yards and three touchdowns at Houston then 166 rushing yards and five touchdowns in a double-overtime win against BYU ... The five rushing scores tied the single-game school record that was set by Barry Sanders in his 1988 Heisman season and the 30 points scored tied for the second-most in school history ... Ended the year on another high note as he went for 118 rushing yards and touchdown against the top-ranked rushing defense and overall defense in the SEC through the regular season, helping defeat Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl ... Added 39 catches for 330 yards for the year to go along with his elite rushing numbers ... His catches ranked third on the team and his receiving yards ranked fifth ... In addition to the long list of awards he received at the end of the season, he also received several during the year ... The first ever three-time Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week, earning the honor for consecutive performances against Kansas, West Virginia and Cincinnati ... The second player in conference history to earn four consecutive Big 12 Player of the Week awards when he received the offensive player of the week against Kansas, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Oklahoma ... 2022 (Freshman): Played in every game as a true freshman and earned his first career start in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against Wisconsin ... Finished the year as the third-leading rusher on the team with 308 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on 62 carries for an average of 4.9 yards per carry ... Added 12 catches for 76 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns ... His rushing total marked the most for any OSU true freshman since 2017 ... Set season-highs against West Virginia with 17 carries and 136 rushing yards ... His rushing yardage against WVU marked the most for any Cowboy in a single game in 2022 ... His next-best total was a 65-yard rushing game against UAPB on just three carries ... Recorded at least one carry in every game ...
