Chandler Jones

KR, WR · San Jose State
Jones was mostly overlooked as a high school recruit and ended up as a ?preferred walk-on? at San Jose State where he redshirted in 2009. He was used mostly as a sub-package receiver in 2010, but finished third on the team in catches and earned a scholarship. Jones produced similar production as a sophomore and junior in 2011-12 as a part-time starter, but emerged as the go-to target for the Spartans? offense as a senior in 2013, finishing with 79 catches for 1,356 yards and a school-record 15 receiving scores ? First Team All-MWC honors and leaves school with several records. He is quicker than fast with short-area explosion to create enough space for him to work and despite smaller hands, he has excellent focus and body control to pluck and quickly get down the field. Jones, who was a Combine snub, lacks ideal speed, size and strength for the next level and needs to stay healthy, but projects as a No. 3/4 inside receiver who can be productive as an underneath possession target.
