Positives...Has a thick upper body with wide hips and large bubble, thick calves, some softness in the mid-section and room for additional growth...Tenacious blocker with good upper body power to shock and jolt the defender coming off the snap...When working near the line, he keeps his base better when taking on stunts and twists...Has enough foot speed to get into the defender at the line of scrimmage and can land and explode into his man when operating in closed quarters...Plays with the toughness and nastiness you like to see from your center in order to finish blocks...Has good slide agility and is functional anchoring in pass protection...More of an upper body mauler who at times, can roll over one- techniques and nose guards, as he possesses the ability to keep his shoulders square and stay on blocks...In pass protection, he shows good hand quickness and will generate good hand extension in double team action...Sinks his hips enough to recover vs. double moves....Best when working in closed quarters, as he gets better leverage there than when working in space. Negatives...Strong upper body blocker, but struggles to maintain his balance on the move...Needs to improve his timed speed, as he fails to get out front on sweeps and screens as you would like from your center...When working up field, he struggles in space, as he fails to reach the three-tech and sometimes will duck his head upon contact...Lacks good knee bend (when he gets high in his stance, he can be defeated by a strong club move)...his short hand punch needs to be improved if he is to consistently lock out his man at the line...Will need to add some more bulk to his frame to play at the next level, but must also improve his acceleration....Struggles to sustain on the scope and lacks good redirection skills to be effective on traps and pulls.
