Fabian Moreau

The big-play ability of redshirt junior cornerback (and returner) Ishmael Adams steals much of the attention away from Moreau, but the Ft. Lauderdale native is a legitimate NFL prospect in his own right, leading the Bruins with eight passes broken up in 2014 and earning Second Team All-Pac-12 honors. Moreau is entering his third season as a starter at cornerback for the Bruins.

strengths

Possesses the combination of size, fluidity and open-field tackling ability scouts are looking for. He is well-versed in man coverage, often lining up on an island in UCLA's scheme.

moreau has a tight, low backpedal and a fluid hip-turn to remain in the back pocket of receivers. he plays with a gambler's mentality, occasionally allowing space to receivers only to show a nice burst to break up passes once quarterbacks commit. moreau shows good hand-eye coordination and timing to slap the ball away as it arrives, doing a nice job of keeping his hands free of the receiver so as to not draw the ire of officials.

He breaks down well as a tackler in the open field, showing good length and strength to lasso ballcarriers.

weaknesses

To improve his stock in 2015, Moreau could do a better job of turning those PBUs into turnovers. He only has one interception in 25 starts (36 games played) to this point. Further, while a reliable tackler, Moreau must show greater awareness and strength to fight through the blocks of receivers.
