Elliss was honored as the Utah High School Athletic Association Most Valuable Player in 2013 after leading Judge to its first state championship in 30 seasons. His playing ability and leadership also earned him the 3A Most Valuable Player by The Deseret News. Elliss displayed his talents offensively and defensively as his teams starting quarterback and a regular at defensive end. At quarterback, he had 714 yards passing and threw for nine touchdowns to which he added another 921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. He was similarly outstanding on defense with 52 tackles and one interception
honor roll member throughout high school.
He is the son of Rebecca and Luther Elliss, a 10-year NFL veteran and one-time standout at the University of Utah
