Angelo Blackson

A three-star defensive tackle recruit, Blackson emerged as a valuable defender as a sophomore in 2012 with 7.0 tackles for loss over 10 starts, but was part of a heavy rotation as a junior and senior, totaling only nine starts and 8.5 tackles for loss the past two years.

blackson has a nose for the ball in the open field, showing fluid movement skills for a man his size to make plays in pursuit. he has adequate flexibility and body control as a pass rusher to dip around blocks and use his hands to work off contact, although his technique needs refined in this area. blackson needs discipline work and a better understanding of situational football, but he plays active and fights through the whistle.

He also proved to be valuable on special teams with four career blocked kicks in college. Like his teammate Gabe Wright, Blackson was underutilized in Auburn's heavy defensive line rotation, but offers versatility and upside as a NFL reserve, fitting both even and odd fronts.
