Corey Davis
positives
Short, thick frame. Started 49 of 50 career games. Good initial quickness off the snap. Physical at the line of scrimmage and looks to dominate his opponent. At his best as a mauling run blocker. Use his hands well to shock the defender initially, and will drive into the defender to pancake him. Good initial hand punch and shows adequate lateral quickness in the short area for pass blocking. Enjoyed a solid performance against better competition during the inaugural Texas vs. Nation all-star game.
negatives
Has dominated at times as a run blocker, but is only a marginal pass blocker despite low level of competition. Marginal footwork and plays so aggressively with his hands that he can become top-heavy and susceptible to pull and arm-over moves. Lacks the agility to pull effectively. Can locate his target, but struggles with change of direction to hit the moving target at the second level.
A top performer on a Kecoughtan OL that had an 1,800-yard RB
first-team all-state and first-team all-area OT by the Newport News Daily Press

won district titles in the discus and shot put and played at his schools No. 3 tennis position.
