Robby Anderson

WR, CB/ST/KR · Temple
Anderson has been flying under the radar following an up-and-down career for the Owls that saw him bookend leaving the program for a year with two outstanding seasons. After not being with the team in 2014, Anderson returned to lead the Owls in receptions (70), receiving yards (939) and touchdowns (seven) last season, and scored an invitation to the Shrine Game to begin his pre-draft process. Anderson was a two-way player out of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. who played cornerback when he first arrived at Temple in 2012. He saw action in six games and was running with the second team defense during the spring of 2013 when he quit the team to return home to deal with personal issues. He was granted a request to return to the program later in the summer as a non-scholarship athlete, and that's when Anderson made the switch to receiver. He went on to catch 44 passes for 791 yards and nine touchdowns despite sitting out the first two games. However, Anderson was not enrolled at the university in the spring of 2014 due to academic issues. He wound up sitting out the 2014 season while attending junior college classes before being cleared to return to the program once again last August. "I am elated," Temple coach Matt Rhule said at the time. "I love the kid, and just on a personal level, even when it looked like he wasn't coming back, I maintained a relationship." "He went to junior college, did the work, came back to Temple and did the work. Honestly, I am excited to have a great player like that on the field."

strengths

A very smooth athlete, he had the best release off the line of scrimmage of any pass-catcher at the Shrine Game and was a consistent plucker, using quick hands to snare away from his body. Impressive adjustment skills.

weaknesses

Lean-muscled and lacks ideal bulk to be physical at the catch point. Twice left the Temple program, once for personal reasons and once for academics, missing the entire 2014 season. Received a strong personal endorsement from coach Matt Rhule for his effort in working his way back into good academic standing, but raises concerns about Anderson's ability to digest a complicated NFl playbook.
