Made an immediate impact as a redshirt freshman at USC, appearing in all six games with three starts during the COVID-19 shortened season … Starts came against Utah, Washington State and Oregon … Tallied 21 receptions for 236 yards (11.2 avg) with two touchdowns and recovered a fumbled onside kick (and caught another one) … Has five catches for 51 yards with a 26-yard TD on fourth down with 2:52 to play off a tipped ball and then he recovered the ensuing onside kick that led to USC’s game-winning drive against Arizona State (11/7) … Caught three passes for 25 yards at Arizona (11/14) … Delivered a game-high five receptions for 66 yards at Utah (11/21), an 8-yard reception against Washington State (12/6) and a 10-yard catch at UCLA (12/12) … Hauled in six catches for 76 yards with a short TD and recovered an onside kick against Oregon (12/18).

2019 – FRESHMAN (USC)

Redshirted as a true freshman in 2019 … Originally signed with USC in December 2018 and enrolled for the 2019 spring semester, but several weeks later transferred to Texas and participated in 2019 spring practice there … Transferred back to USC in the summer of 2019.

Full name is Horace Lee McCoy III … Goes by Bru … Born on June 22, 2000 … His father, Horace McCoy II, was a tight end at Northern Illinois (1994) and his mother, Shelby, was a record-setting four-time (1991-94) All-Conference setter for Northern Illinois volleyball … Is helping to make sudden cardiac arrest prevention, awareness and treatment a priority this season as he co-created Huddle for Hearts … Through Huddle For Hearts, his work provides AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) to youth sports organizations – focusing primarily on underserved communities … Held a CPR training and demo seminar in the Knoxville community and also donated two AED machines to inner-city youth … Has an NIL deal in place this season where for every touchdown he catches, an AED will be donated to the community ... Majoring in communication studies …
